- Horse Care — Feeding, Grooming, What to do in an emergency…
- Then – TEAM WORK! Be prepared for some fun bareback relay races in teams!
Be prepared for a little contest and lots of fun!
This group lesson will include direct, hands-on learning with the horses. Older/more advanced students will serve as team captains and will have the opportunity to mentor the younger or less advanced students.
$40 per student. RSVP to hold your spot. Minimum of 4 students, maximum of 12.

Hiking With Horses

$20 per student, 6 students maximum
- An excellent way to bond with your mount
- Build confidence on the ground
- Learn how to lead on uneven terrain – what to do going up hill & down
- How to keep your horse out of your space & walking at your speed
- Amazing cross-training for the rider!
- A great time to “pick Jaya’s brain” – questions will be encouraged during the hike
- Perfect time to review too – Jaya will go over vocab words & training/riding methods

Student Work Day at Lightfoot Horse Farm
Come experience what horse ownership is really like!
Saturday, January 27th…
After the group lesson, until noon!
Dress in close-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty! We’ll be mucking a lot of horse poo, cleaning water troughs, feeding all the horses & more! Please don’t forget to bring your best attitude too!
*Students must be able to stay on task and work independently. Younger children are welcome to help out too, but may be asked to be picked up early as they are not expected to last as long as the older students.
*Work day is free of charge to parents, but please note the group lesson is charged at $40 per student.

Riding Attire
Students are REQUIRED to provide their own riding gear, which includes: a proper fitting ASTM/SEI Certified riding helmet, proper riding pants, and proper riding boots (endurance boots, such as the Ariat Terrain boots, or English style paddock boots are preferred over cowboy boots).
